Product Description

Master Bond EP4G-80Med is a one component, low viscosity, graphite filled epoxy. This medical grade material has exceptional flow properties and can be used for bonding, sealing and coating applications. Upon curing, it combines good thermal and electrical conductivity. This epoxy can be shipped in syringes or jars. Syringes are shipped in dry ice, stored in a cryogenic freezer, and intended for one time use. Upon thawing, the epoxy should be used within 6-8 hours, and any remaining material discarded. When packaged in jars, there are no shipping restrictions, and it is recommended that the jars be stored in a refrigerator. When removed from the refrigerator, for best results, jars should be used within a 12 hour time frame. Then the jar should be returned to the refrigerator for reuse when needed. Regardless of the packaging, the epoxy cures readily in 60-90 minutes at 80°C. Post curing at 80°C for 1-2 hours will optimize properties.

EP4G-80Med bonds well to a wide variety of substrates such as metals, composites, ceramics and many plastics. It is a high compressive strength, high modulus system. The epoxy has good dimensional stability. Its electrical conductivity is quite good with a volume resistivity of 50 to 100 ohm-cm. Because it is highly flowable, it can be considered for specialty applications where graphite type electrical conductivity is needed. It should be noted that graphite can be a desirable filler material because it is non-metallic, provides reliable performance, and is cost effective. EP4G-80Med resists water, oils, fuels, and many aggressive medical sterilants. Its color is black. The service temperature range is -50°C to +175°C. EP4G-80Med is an attractive option for medical device applications where good electrical conductivity, easy application and fast curing at lower temperatures is advantageous.
